Kirkby's West Park set for £155000 revamp after campaigners secure funding. The project was part funded through a £49,999 grant from the Big Lottery Fund's Community Spaces Programme.

Youth projects receives £570000 of lottery funding.
The funding comes from Big Lottery Fund (BIG) small grants scheme Awards for All, which offers grants of between £300 and £10,000 to social and environmental projects that will benefit local communities.

Cash windfall for nursery project. Awarded by the Communities and Families Fund – a joint venture from the Big Lottery Fund and the Scottish Government – the cash windfall will help fund weekly drop-in sessions with guest speakers, a weekly fruit barra and cookery classes.

Oxfam took over Clapham High Street in the UK's biggest charity music festival, raising over £5,000 on Saturday. The festival saw thousands of volunteers and hundreds of thousands of fans making music in a bid to fight poverty in their communities.

New research predicts the number of older women in the UK who will be living with breast cancer in 2040 will be four times the number today.

The Heart charity, The British Heart Foundation (the BHF), announced as the De Vere Venues Charity of the Year partnership.

The 10-year partnership between the children's cancer charity Clic Sargent and the pub chain JD Wetherspoon has raised £6m since 2002 through a combination of employee and customer support - of this, £1m has come in the past nine months.

Melton Mayor's Appeal boosts Melton children's charity
A total of £6,971.94 was raised during Councillor Alison Freer-Jones' 2011-12 year of office. The Mayor was supported by the Friends of Romy fundraising group which accepted the cheque on behalf of the charity.

DEVIZES Mayor and Mayoress Kelvin and Pam Nash have thanked the organisers of three events which together have contributed more than £1000.

Mayor of Richmond Rita Palmer, has chosen the Horse Rangers and the Poppy Factory as her favoured charities for the year.

Town Mayor's Charities to Benefit from Quiz Night. The Town Mayor's charities this year are Wessex Cancer Trust and The League of Friends at Alton.

TWO young farmers from Carmarthenshire have helped the Wales Young Farmers Club raise almost £38,000 for the organisation's Charity of the Year - Wales Air Ambulance.


Lottery Funding

St Nicholas Hospice Care awarded £431212 from Big Lottery Fund.

Chicks has secured a £3,300 award from The Big Lottery Fund to help finance a whole new range of equipment for its members who are aged up to five years old. As well as toys and learning aids.

Down's Syndrome Association is one of five Northern Ireland organisations awarded grants totalling almost £1.3 million from the Big Lottery Fund's Reaching Out: Connecting Older People programme, which supports older people affected by issues such as bereavement, disability or long-term illness or who live in residential care or sheltered housing.

A PROJECT to encourage volunteering in Coventry has received a £288,000 cash boost from the Big Lottery Fund. The Retired and Senior Volunteer Programme, based at Central Hall, in Warwick Lane, city centre, was granted the funding for three years.

Lottery boost for health and social projects. Ten schemes in East Anglia will share £2.3 million of funding from the Big Lottery Fund (Big).

A project which teaches financial literacy to young people is one of eight projects in the West Midlands to win a share of £1.5 million from the Big Lottery Fund (Big). Best Chance will use £155,000 to help young people in Birmingham avoid debt.

A DERBYSHIRE charity which aims to help people with eating disorders has been given a big financial boost. First Steps Derbyshire has been awarded £187,105 from the Big Lottery Fund.
