A Sheffield charity for the homeless has been chosen by phone and broadband company Plusnet as its Charity of the Year. The company, which employs over 700 people in Sheffield, hopes to raise £10,00 for Roundabout, which provides shelter and support homeless young people.

Fife care leavers benefit from life changing funding from The Big Lottery Fund.

A total of eight communities across Wales are sharing in the £324,218 awarded from the Big Lottery Fund's (BIG) Village SOS scheme.

A village library in Charmouth, Dorset will soon be transformed into a vibrant community hub thanks to a £50,000 Big Lottery Fund award.

Residents in Husthwaite, near Thirsk, are set to realise a long-standing ambition after the Big Lottery Fund (BLF) agreed to fund most of the cost of replacing its well-used, but rotten and damp, community centre.

Newmains Community Trust are delighted to have been awarded the Big Lottery Fund grant to build a new Community Hub, with a library and community cafe.

Epping-based befriending project City on a Hill lands £10000 Big Lottery Fund.

Shopmobility, which loans out scooters and wheelchairs to help less able-bodied shoppers access town centre stores, was awarded the grant from the Big Lottery Fund to meet the increasing demand for its services.

The Big Lottery Fund's Village SOS scheme has awarded business grants of more than £641,000 to 13 communities across Northern Ireland. Around £50,000 has been earmarked for each village to help people create social enterprises.

The Big Lottery Fund has awarded grants to both South Shields Community School and St Wilfrid's RC College. They were among 48 groups in the region who were helped by the Awards For All scheme, which gives handouts of up to £10,000 to projects.

Mayor Charity of the Year

This is a fantastic example of the generosity of Loughboroughs traders coming together to support the Mayors nominated charities that work tirelessly to support the local community. This year, the Mayor has selected two charities to support.

Mayor of Felixstowe Mike Deacon is hoping his two chosen charities for his year in office will receive a great Christmas boost.
